FINAL PAPER: Due, Monday, April 30 - NO EXCEPTIONS.


This final paper is due in class on Monday, April 30 - no exceptions. Be prepared to present a portion of it in class. Please post your final paper here at our course blog, and include your full name in the subject line.

What are the promises and perils of grassroots activism in the new/digital 21st century media age?

Answer this question in an EIGHT paragraph multimedia essay that draws on all three of our books - COGNITIVE SURPLUS, THE SHALLOWS, and REVOLUTION 2.0 - plus our power tools, in-class discussions, films, and guest lectures.

To pass this paper, you must be sure that your paper contains:

1. 5-7 sentences of thoughtful analysis (per paragraph), combining your own words with our various texts.
2. Direct quotations and/or references to our THREE texts with parenthetical citations (Shirky, 46).
3. At least ONE embedded photo or video per paragraph that illuminates your analysis.
4. At least ONE hyperlink per paragraph that enhances your analysis.
5.No grammar, spelling, or mechanical errors.
